A shining star from Nachu Ward in Kikuyu Constituency and a good friend to our patron Kimani Ichung’wah. James’ story is one of indefatigable resolve and commitment. He is the quintessential avatar of diligence and hard work engendered success. Rising from a humble background, James attended Kamangu Primary school, sat his KCPE in 2013 and scored 292 marks.

He joined P.C.E.A Karai Mixed Secondary school in 2014 and we enrolled him into our scholarship program. Through the foundation’s support, James was able to undertake his secondary school education without the pressure of tuition fees, allowing him to concentrate fully on his studies. He sat his KCSE in 2017 and scored a B-(Minus). He joined Maseno University from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Information Science with IT in 2023.

Upon completion of his studies, James was confronted with the same harsh reality that confronts many graduates in our country; the struggle to secure a job beseeming his academic and professional qualifications. He took to knocking on doors in search of opportunities, doing odd jobs and attending recruitment exercises with the hope of joining our nation’s security institutions.

James persisted until a befitting opportunity beckoned. He joined the Kenya Prisons Service as a cadet officer in July 2025 and successfully completed his training, graduating as a Kenya Prisons Service officer on August 24, 2026. He expresses his gratitude ever so much for the opportunity and has committed to serve the nation with discipline, integrity and dedication.

We wish James the very best and we shall continue to engage him and other alumni who are succeeding in their academic and professional endeavours to mentor our beneficiaries and help steer them in the same paths.
